Hello Soccer Parents
As always getting soccer started early enough to make everyone happy is a challenge. As much as we would like to start in the beginning of April The school district has control of the fields and we must have their OK to play. They have just given us permission to get onto the fields this week so we will be starting on Tuesday May 1st. Coaches will start calling their players on Sunday April 29th.
This year we are starting one week later then usual. Our usual season is nine weeks and then a tournament weekend. This year it will be eight weeks. However we have organized the teams so that there are no Bye’s. That means each team will have 9 games instead of the usual 8 games. As usual there will be one week during the schedule where there is two games so that the kids get more games.
We would like to thank all the coaches for volunteering their time and all the sponsors for their donations.
Only after you have volunteered can you truly understand the countless hours it takes to prepare the soccer season. There is the many weekends of sitting all day for registration there is the hours of phoning sponsors and potential coaches. The divisions of teams the ordering of uniforms negotiating with insurance companies and the school district.
80 man-hours for registration
20 man-hours for team division
20 man-hours for uniform order
10 man-hours for coaches folders and call lists
10 man-hours for equipment preparation and distribution.
That is 160 hours of volunteer work just to get to the start of the soccer season.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding and appreciation from all the volunteers who put in the countless hours of their time to provide your child with a soccer season.
